Bungee rowing for charity
During the annual bungee rowing event, which this year took place on Saturday, September 5th at the Port of Zaltbommel. A total amount of Euro 4.945,- was raised for charity.
Twenty teams have struggled to row as fast and far as possible in a boat containing four rowers and one coach. To make it more exciting, on each boat a large elastic string was attached, which caused counterforce. After an exciting battle ‘Auxilium Offshore’ eventually won this great race for charity.
The Lions Club Bommelerwaard, Rotary Zaltbommel and Better Old Days have organized this fantastic event for the second time. Both the participating teams and visitors did contribute to the proceeds which will all go to a foundation. Per team 250 Euros was raised in sponsorship contribution. In addition, the yield of the food and drinks of the day went to the foundation, also sponsored and provided by the local supermarket, butcher shop and café. This year Orizon Foundation, which organizes activities for children and young people, received a check for Euro 4.195,-. In addition, the local Scouting, who provided the boats and the support during the event, received an amount of Euro 750,-.
We all look back on a fabulous day.
